A THY Turkish Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration TC-JFV performing flight TK-455 from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen (Turkey) to Kiev (Ukraine), was enroute at FL380 about 260nm south of Kiev, when the crew noticed the altitude was climbing and initiated a rapid descent to FL100, the passenger oxygen masks were not released. The aircraft continued to Kiev for a safe landing about 50 minutes later.

Ukraine's Ministry of Transport reported in their monthly bulletin, that maintenance identified and rectified a fault with the left air conditioning system and released the aircraft for the return flight.

The aircraft reached Istanbul on the return flight TK-456 with a delay of 20 minutes.
