An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, registration C-FHKS performing flight AC-608 from Toronto,ON to Halifax,NS (Canada) with 101 people on board, was climbing through about 11700 feet out of Toronto, when a loud bang was heard followed by a rapid rise of cabin altitude. The crew stopped the climb, descended to 10,000 feet and returned to Toronto for a safe overweight landing about 30 minutes after departure.

A replacement ERJ-190 reached Halifax with a delay of 2 hours.

The Canadian TSB reported the seal of cabin door L1 (forward left) was identified leaking.
