An Easyjet Europe Airbus A319-100, registration OE-LVK performing flight U2-7214 from Lisbon (Portugal) to Barcelona,SP (Spain), was enroute at FL380 about 80nm west of Madrid,SP (Spain) when the crew initiated an emergeny descent to FL100 and diverted to Madrid for a safe landing on runway 32L about 35 minutes later.

The Aviation Herald received information that the aircraft had been dispatched under minimum equipment list requirements with cabin pressure controller (CPC) 1 inoperative, in flight CPC2 failed.
