A Cathay Pacific Airbus A340-300, registration B-HXJ performing flight CX-715 from Hong Kong (China) to Singapore (Singapore), was descending towards Singapore when the crew reported the failure of the green hydraulic system and advised they would need to be towed after landing due to the lack of nose wheel steering. The crew performed an alternate gear extension and landed the aircraft safely on Singapore's runway 02C.

A passenger reported they were about 100nm out of Singapore when the captain announced they had a green hydraulic failure and would need to be towed after landing, the nose geer steering would not work. The aircraft continued for a smooth touchdown, brakes were applied late, the aircraft vacated the runway and stopped shortly afterwards on a taxiway. A tow truck arrived about 10 minutes later and towed the aircraft to the gate.

The return flight CX-714, scheduled to depart at 01:15L on Mar 16th was delayed by about 13 hours as a result.
