An Air Canada Airbus A320-200, registration C-FDQQ performing flight AC-902 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Tampa,FL (USA) with 153 people on board, was enroute at FL370 about 200nm south of Toronto, over Pittsburgh Airport,PA (USA), when the crew received indication, that the left main gear doors were in transit. The crew declared PAN and returned to Toronto for a safe landing on runway 05 about one hour later.

The FAA reported the crew reported the landing gear had extended without command.

The Canadian TSB reported the left main gear door indicated in transit in flight. Maintenance suspects faulty proximity sensor.
