A British Airways Boeing 747-400, registration G-BYGC performing flight BA-49 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Seattle,WA (USA), was climbing out of London when the crew stopped the climb at FL100 reporting problems with the cabin pressure, descended to FL090 to dump fuel and returned to London Heathrow for a safe landing on runway 27R about 100 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 747-400 registration G-BYGG reached Seattle with a delay of 5.5 hours.

The incident aircraft was able to resume service about 5 hours after landing.
