A Qatar Airways Airbus A350-1000, registration A7-ANA performing flight QR-774 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil) to Doha (Qatar), was enroute at FL350 over the Atlantic Ocean about 470nm southsoutheast of Salvador,BA (Brazil) when the crew needed to shut one of the engines (Trent XWB) down. The aircraft drifted down to FL220 and diverted to Salvador for a safe landing on runway 10 about 105 minutes later.

The airline reported the aircraft diverted due to a technical problem.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Salvador about 8 hours after landing.
