A Buzz Boeing 737-800 on behalf of Ryanair, registration SP-RKT performing flight FR-6916 from Dortmund (Germany) to Katowice (Poland) with 190 people on board, was climbing out of Dortmund's runway 24 when the crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet after a bird was ingested by the right hand engine (CFM56). The aircraft entered a hold while the crew worked the checklists, then positioned for an approach to runway 24 and landed safely about 35 minutes after departure.

Emergency services reported the aircraft sustained damage to one of the engines.

The flight was cancelled. The aircraft is still on the ground in Dortmund about 19 hours after landing.
