A United Boeing 767-400, registration N67058 performing flight UA-992 from Washington Dulles,DC (USA) to Barcelona,SP (Spain), was climbing out of Washington's runway 30 when tower proceeded to hand them off to departure but remained without reply, then tried to establish contact via a company aircraft also without success. The crew subsequently signalled via ACARS that they had lost all their communication radios, stopped the climb at 10,000 feet, dumped fuel and returned to Washington Dulles for a safe landing on runway 01R about 105 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 767-400 registration N66057 reached Barcelona with a delay of about 12.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 24 hours after landing back.
