A United Boeing 737-700, registration N13718 performing flight UA-1745 from Louisville,KY to Houston Intercontinental,TX (USA) with 121 people on board, was climbing out of Louisville's runway 35L when the crew stopped the climb at 2500 feet reporting a wheel well fire indication as well as a lot of other indications and requested to stay close to the aerodrome and continued for the return on tower frequency. The aircraft joined a traffic circuit for runway 35L, tower reported not seeing any smoke or fire, and landed safely back on runway 35L about 8 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 16.5 hours before returning to service.
