An Indigo Airbus A320-200N, registration VT-ISQ performing flight 6E-1715 from Kannur (India) to Doha (Qatar), was enroute at FL360 about 190nm southwest of Mumbai (India) already over the Arabian Sea when the crew decided to divert to Mumbai due to the failure of the yellow hydraulic system. The aircraft descended to FL250, then FL200 and landed safely on Mumbai's runway 27 about 80 minutes after leaving FL360.

A replacement Airbus A320-200N registration VT-ISS continued the flight after 2.5 hours on the ground and is estimated to reach Doha with a delay of about 4:20 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Mumbai about 6 hours after landing.
