A Swiss International Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration HB-IJH performing flight LX-1843 from Athens (Greece) to Zurich (Switzerland), had just left cruise level 360 when the crew told ATC they suspected a tyre problem and requested emergency services on stand by for landing. The aircraft landed safely on Zurich's runway 14 about 30 minutes later and stopped on the runway near intersection with high speed turn off H2. A technician inspected the landing gear but did not find any anomaly. The aircraft subsequently taxied to the apron.

The incident aircraft remained on the ground for about 9 hours before resuming service.
