The incident aircraft positioned to Newark as flight UA-6650 on Dec 24th and is currently estimated to resume service in the late evening of Dec 26th.

The Canadian TSB reported on Jan 4th 2013, that the crew received an intermittent "L ENG FUEL FILTER" EICAS message and decided to divert to the nearest suitable airport St. John's and declared emergency due to an overweight landing. Maintenance checked the left engine's fuel filter but found nothing wrong. Nonetheless the filter and the pressure differential switch were replaced.
