All people on board survived the accident. An investigation has been opened, a preliminary report will be published in due time.
On Nov 17th 2022 Somalia's Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (SAAID) reported the aircraft encountered windshear at low altitude on final approach after which the crew lost control of the aircraft. The aircraft hit the runway hard and came to a stop on its back, a fire broke out. Three passengers received minor injuries, the aircraft sustained substantial damage. The occurrence was rated an accident and is being investigated by the SAAID.
Due to the critical political situation in Somalia landings are conducted only on runway 05 and departures only on runway 23 (and accordingly, only instrument standard arrival routes to runway 05 and instrument standard departure routes from runway 23 are being published).
