Authorities in Faro reported the aircraft diverted due to sudden illness of one of the pilots, after landing the pilot was taken care of and transported to a hospital.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Faro about 26 hours after landing.
The passengers were taken to hotels. The return flight U2-2214 was cancelled.
On Apr 14th 2022 it became known that the captain of the flight had dislocated his shoulder and became incapacitated due to pain.
