An Eastern Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N705KW performing flight 2D-154 from Miami,FL (USA) to Montevideo (Uruguay), was climbing out of Miami when the crew requested to stop climb at 11000 feet, subsequently requesting a block altitude and being cleared between 10,000 and 11,000 feet. The aircraft entered a hold to work checklists, the crew indicated they might need to come back and needed a long time to hold. The crew subsequently advised they had a problem with the flaps and would need to land at high speed. The aircraft landed on Miami's runway 27 at high speed (196 knots over ground) about 80 minutes after departure and vacated the runway. While taxiing towards the terminal a number of tyres deflated disabling the aircraft on the taxiway.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Miami about 6 days later (Dec 25th 2021).
