A Hawaiian Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N581HA performing flight HA-442 from Sapporo (Japan) to Honolulu,HI (USA) with 184 people on board, was enroute at FL320 over the Pacific Ocean about 90 minutes into the flight when the crew decided to turn around and divert to Tokyo's Haneda Airport (Japan) due to the malfunction of the yaw damper. The aircraft landed safely on Haneda's runway 34L about 190 minutes after departure.

The aircraft was able to depart Tokyo again after about 3 hours on the ground and is estimated to reach Honolulu with a delay of 6 hours.
