A Philippine Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration RP-C3335 performing flight PR-438 from Manila (Philippines) to Nagoya (Japan), was in the initial climb out of Manila's runway 06 when the crew reported hydraulic problems and decided to return to Manila. The crew advised they had lost nose gear steering but expected to be able to vacate the runway and stop on the taxiway. The aircraft landed safely on runway 06 with open gear doors and no nose wheel steering about 15 minutes after departure and stopped clear of the runway.

A replacement Airbus A330-300 reached Nagoya with a delay of 3 hours.
