A United Boeing 757-200, registration N536UA performing flight UA-627 from Newark,NJ to Portland,OR (USA), landed on Portland's runway 10L when the aircraft suffered a bird strike. The aircraft continued for a safe landing, the crew subsequently reported nose gear steering problems while attempting to vacate the runway, they had been struck by a large flock of birds on short final. The crew managed to vacate the runway and stopped clear of the runway, another arrival swung over to runway 10R due to concerns there might be debris on the runway.

The FAA reported the aircraft sustained damage to nose gear and flaps as result of bird strikes while landing through a flock of birds.
