A United Boeing 767-300, registration N661UA performing flight UA-907 from Munich (Germany) to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA), was enroute over the Atlantic Ocean when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine (PW4060) down. The aircraft drifted down and diverted to Gander,NL (Canada) for a safe landing about 60 minutes later.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled.

A passenger reported they heard loud noise and felt vibrations twice with about 10 minutes in between, the inflight entertainment system as well as the electrical seat control did not function for some period of time. Following the second encounter the descent began, the captain announced a short time later they would divert to Gander. The passengers were rebooked onto flight UA-1758 the following day and reached Chicago with a delay of 22 hours.
