An Alaska Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N848VA performing flight AS-1193 from Columbus,OH to Seattle,WA (USA), was enroute at FL380 about 700nm east of Seattle when the crew decided to divert to Los Angeles,CA about 950nm from their present position reporting the first officer's avionics had failed and anti-ice systems were inoperative, they didn't want to take any chances with the weather frontal system developing over the Rocky Mountains spanning from Seattle down to San Francisco. The aircraft landed safely on Los Angeles' runway 25L about 2:25 hours later.

A replacement A320-200 registration N635VA reached Seattle with a delay of 4:25 hours.
