A Vietnam Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration VN-A376 performing flight VN-311 from Tokyo Narita (Japan) to Hanoi (Vietnam) with 299 people on board, was enroute at FL400 near Shanghai (China) when the crew initiated an emergency descent and diverted to Shanghai's Pudong Airport for a safe landing.

The French BEA reported on ov 13th in their weekly bulletin that both engine bleed air systems failed.
