An ANA All Nippon Airways Boeing 767-300, registration JA8322 performing flight NH-883 from Tokyo Haneda to Toyama (Japan) with 275 people on board, was descending towards Toyama when the aircraft was struck by lightning and suffered damage to the nose cone. The aircraft continued to Toyama for a safe landing.

The return flight NH-886 was cancelled.

The thunderstorm front moved over the aerodrome about 2 hours after landing.
