A US Airways Airbus A330-300, registration N276AY performing flight US-701 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Philadelphia,PA (USA), stopped the climb out of Frankfurt at FL240 and about 15 minutes later turned around to return to Frankfurt for a safe landing on runway 25C about 75 minutes after departure.

The flight was subsequently cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.

A passenger reported that the captain initially announced technical problems and subsequently announced they had a bleed air leak at the left hand side. The aircraft landed with emergency services on standby, after first attempts to fix the aircraft were to no avail the flight was cancelled.
