An Aeromexico Boeing 737-700, registration XA-CAM performing flight AM-929 from Monterrey to Mexico City (Mexico) with about 100 people on board, was climbing out of Monterrey when a bird impacted and damaged the leading edge and slat of the left hand wing. The crew levelled off at 10,000 feet and returned to Monterrey for a safe landing.

The flight was subsequently cancelled.

A passenger reported he saw the bird impact the left hand wing leaving a large dent in the leading edge of the wing. Passengers subsequently notified the cabin crew, a short while later the captain announced they were returning to Monterrey due to the bird strike.
