An Air Europa Airbus A330-200, registration EC-LQO performing a flight from unknown point of origin to Madrid,SP (Spain) with 163 passengers and 10 crew, was in the initial descent towards Madrid when the aircraft encountered turbulence. The aircraft continued for a safe landing in Madrid.

Spain's CIAIAC reported a flight attendant received serious injuries in the severe turbulence encounter during the begin of the descent, the flight attendant suffered the fracture of tibia and fibula (editorial note: the CIAIAC did not provide a time stamp or a point of origin).

EC-LQO landed in Madrid three times on Dec 16th 2019:

- at 02:58Z from Santa Cruz (Bolivia) as flight UX-26
- at 12:06Z from Barcelona,SP (Spain) as UX-7706
- at 20:48Z from Las Palmas,CI (Spain) as flight UX-9165
