A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N1607B performing flight DL-405 from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to Boston,MA (USA), was on approach to Boston's runway 04R when the right overwing slide departed the aircraft with loud noise. The slide fell into a local resident's front garden about 4nm short of the runway threshold. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 04R about 2 minutes later at 11:53L (16:53Z).

Police received an emergency call at 12:11pm local time (17:11Z) and responded. The Police reported the home owner had been outside speaking to a neighbour when a loud noise was heard and the chute landed on his front lawn. There were no injuries.
