Azur B763 at Barnaul on Sep 25th 2019, gear fire on landing prompts evacuation

An Azur Air Boeing 767-300, registration VP-BUV performing flight ZF-2244 from Nha Trang (Vietnam) to Barnaul (Russia) with 331 passengers and 10 crew, had touched down on Barnaul's runway 24 and went around at 21:01L (14:01Z), positioned for another approach and again landed on Barnaul's runway 24 about 10 minutes later, vacated the runway and stopped on the parallel taxiway immediately afterwards due to the right hand main gear being on fire. The aircraft was evacuated via left hand slides while emergency services responded and extinguished the fire. One passenger received serious, 48 minor injuries as result of the evacuation.

Russia's Rosaviatsia reported the landing gear caught fire just after landing, the fire was quickly extinguished. The 331 passengers and 10 crew were evacuated via slides, so far no one required medical assistance.

Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations for Altai Territory reported the landing gear was ignited as result of a hard landing. 334 passengers and 10 crew were evacuated. The aircraft landed at 21:21L, the fire was extinguished at 21:40L. There were no serious injuries. Emergency psychological assistance is being provided to the occupants of the aircraft. The Ministry does not mention any (minor) injuries nor any number thereof.

West Siberia's Investigative Department reported after landing a tyre of the main gear ignited, the fire was immediately localized, the passengers were evacuated. 334 passengers and 10 crew were on board. Three passengers "turned to a medical institution for help".

On Sep 26th 2019 Russia's Ministry for Emergency Situations reported 49 people sought medical assistance, most of them had received bruises and abrasions as well as stress related symptoms, seven were taken to Barnaul emergency rooms for further diagnosis. Six of those (bruises, 2 fractures) were redirected to outpatient treatment, one was hospitalized with a fracture of the transverse processes of the vertebrae. Most of the injuries were associated with the design of the emergency slides, the slides are quite wide with slippery surface causing abrasions.

Russian Media were claiming citing the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations that there were at least 23 injuries, 5 of which were hospitalized, a couple of hours later Russian Media later reported 49 injuries, one of which was hospitalized, however without providing any source.

On Sep 26th 2019 Russia's News Agency Interfax reported citing Altai Territories' Health Minister that 49 people were injured, 48 of which were diagnosed with bruises and abrasions, one was hospitalized. Interfax continued that the minister noted only 25 seeked medical assistance, seven of them demanded to be diagnosed in a hospital, one was hospitalized, two received fractures to be treated on an outpatient base, the rest received bruises. In the same article Interfax reports that according to West Siberia's Investigative Department the number of injured rose to 56 by the morning stating in a second article: "56 people turned to the airport’s medical unit after the incident, one of them was hospitalized in a medical facility." (Editorial note: see above for the press release by the West Siberian Investigative Department) Interfax continued again in that second article quoting the Altai Terroritories' Minister of Health: "a woman was hospitalized. She was previously diagnosed with a bruise of the kidneys and lumbar spine." (Editorial note: some Russian media report a spinal fracture)
