An American Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration N802AW performing flight AA-2120 from Washington National,DC to Boston,MA (USA), was descending towards Boston when the crew reported a hydraulic failure and requested a long final (15nm). The crew performed an alternate gear extension and landed safely on Boston's runway 33L with all gear doors open. The aircraft was towed off the runway.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Boston for about 20 hours before returning to service.
