An Emirates Airlines Airbus A380-800, registration A6-EDD performing flight EK-316 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Osaka Kansai (Japan) with 472 people on board, was on final approach to Kansai's runway 24R when the crew initiated a go around due to an unsafe indication for the nose gear. The aircraft climbed to 7000 feet, positioned for another approach to runway 24R about 30 minutes later and stopped on the runway. Emergency services reported an oil leak from the nose gear. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

Japan's Ministry of Transport reported the crew received indication of a hydraulic problem, after landing a leak from the nose gear was detected. The runway was closed for about 2 hours.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 39.5 hours after landing.
