A United Airbus A320-200, registration N403UA performing flight UA-2754 from Vancouver,BC (Canada) to San Francisco,CA (USA) with just 2 flight crew on board, was climbing out of Vancouver when the crew received an ECAM message "AC ESS BUSS FAULT" and indication of the loss of the #2 electrical bus. The crew declared emergency and returned to Vancouver for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance identified a faulty right Integrated Drive Generator (IDG).
