A British Airways Airbus A321-200N, registration G-NEOR performing flight BA-884 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Bucharest Otopeni (Romania), was on approach to Otopeni's runway 26L when a bird impacted the nose of the aircraft. The aircraft continued for a safe landing.

The aircraft was scheduled to overnight at Bucharest and depart for the return flight BA-885 the following morning, however, needed to remain on the ground beyond scheduled departure time for replacement of the nose cone. The aircraft was subsequently able to depart Bucharest with a delay of about 5 hours and reached London with a delay of about 4:40 hours.
