An Emirates Airbus A380-800, registration A6-EOK performing flight EK-51 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Munich (Germany), was on approach to Munich when the aircraft received a number of lightning strikes. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 26L.

The aircraft was unable to depart for the return flight and is still on the ground in Munich about 29 hours after landing.
