A Westjet Boeing 737-700, registration C-GWAZ performing flight WS-121 from Calgary,AB to Vancouver,BC (Canada) with 125 passengers and 5 crew, was enroute when a burning smell was noticed from the aft galley. The smell dissipated, cabin crew was unable to identify the source of the odour. During the descent towards Vancouver the odour occurred again. The flight crew declared emergency and requested emergency services to meet the aircraft on landing. The aircraft landed without further incident.

The Canadian TSB reported the operator's maintenance found the hydraulic system was at 104% of its capacity and corrected it to the recommended 91% of capacity. Both engines were run with no faults found.
