A Delta Airlines Boeing 717-200, registration N922AT performing flight DL-871 from Seattle,WA to Spokane,WA (USA), landed on Spokane's runway 03 when the crew of another aircraft reported seeing sparks coming from the landing aircraft. Tower immediately dispatched emergency services. The aircraft slowed without further incident and stopped on the runway.

The airport was closed for about 30 minutes until the secondary runway was ready for operation. The airport's main runway remained closed for about 90 minutes until the aircraft could be towed off the runway and a runway inspection was completed.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground about 11.5 hours after landing.
