A post flight inspection revealed cuts in two tyres (#1 and #5, forward and rear left), both tyres held their pressure. The wheels were replaced.
While researching another accident (see Accident: Capital Beijing A320 at Macau on Aug 28th 2018, dropped nose wheels on hard touchdown) The Aviation Herald found out, that Macau's Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA) had released their final report some time in the past concluding the probable cause of the serious incident was:
With the evidence as documented in the available information, the performance of the aircraft was degraded translating into longer take-off roll distance due to incorrect flap setting (14 degrees) for the tail wind condition (140/07 knots).
Contributing Factors
The flight crew had not been provided with sufficient technical and guidance information nor were they adequately trained to apply the correct flap setting for take-off.
The MCAA analysed the aircraft was properly loaded with takeoff weight and CG within permitted limits. The cargo was re-weighed at Karachi to ensure there was no overweight condition. Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority found cuts in two tyres after landing in Karachi.
