An Air Canada Rouge Boeing 767-300, registration C-FMLV performing flight RV-1958 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Porto (Portugal), had just levelled off at initial cruise level 350 when the crew received a "L HYD QTY" EICAS message. The crew worked the related checklists and identified a hydraulic leak. The crew decided to return to Toronto and declared PAN as precaution. The aircraft performed a safe overweight landing on Toronto's runway 23 about 30 minutes later, stopped on the runway for an inspection by emergency services and subsequently taxied to the apron.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance identified the leak originated at the left hydraulic system pressure switch coupling. The hydraulic seals were replaced and the system tested.
