A Middle East Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration T7-MRB performing flight ME-266 from Istanbul (Turkey) to Beirut (Lebanon), was climbing out of Istanbul's runway 35L when a bird impacted the aircraft prompting the crew to stop the climb at about 6000 feet and return to Istanbul for a safe landing on runway 35R about 20 minutes after departure.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Istanbul about 10 hours after landing back.

The airline reported a large bird impacted the aircraft. The passengers were taken to hotels, the flight was rescheduled for the following day.
