A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N1402A performing flight DL-2048 from Atlanta,GA to Salt Lake City,UT (USA), was on final approach to Salt Lake City's runway 35 when the aircraft was struck by a bird. The crew continued for a safe landing.

A passenger waiting for the onward flight DL-2767 to Honolulu,HI reported the flight has been delayed by about 5 hours due to a bird strike on the incoming aircraft, flight DL-2048, resulting in a cracked windshield.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground about 7 hours after landing.
