A Singapore Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration 9V-STY performing flight SQ-516 from Singapore (Singapore) to Kolkata (India), was descending towards Kolkata when the crew advised a hydraulic leak, they would not be able to vacate the runway and needed to be towed to the apron. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Kolkata's runway 19L and stopped on the runway. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

The runway was closed for about 20 minutes.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 20 hours, then departed for the return flight as SQ-517D and reached Singapore with a delay of about 19 hours.
