A LOT Polish Airlines Embraer ERJ-195, registration SP-LNB performing flight LO-405 from Warsaw (Poland) to Dusseldorf (Germany), was on approach to Dusseldorf when the crew reported problems with the flaps and requested emergency services on stand by for a high speed landing. The aircraft landed safely on Dusseldorf's runway 23L at a higher than normal speed (about 190 knots over ground).

A ground observer reported a large number of emergency vehicles were awaiting the aircraft. The aircraft landed at high speed, vacated the runway and stopped shutting the engines down, emergency services checked the hot brakes. The aircraft waited for the brakes to cool down, about 30 minutes after stopping the aircraft the crew restarted the engines and taxied the aircraft to the apron.

The return flight the following morning was cancelled.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 16 hours, then positioned to Warsaw but has not yet returned to service about 24 ours after landing in Dusseldorf.
