An Air Canada Airbus A330-300, registration C-GFAF performing flight AC-879 from Zurich (Switzerland) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 301 people on board, was climbing through 2000 feet out of Zurich's runway 16 when the crew received indications the blue hydraulic system had failed. The crew consulted with dispatch and maintenance, all of which agreed to continue the flight to destination. The aircraft climbed to cruise level and continued to Toronto for a safe landing about 8.5 hours after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced the Leak Measurement Grd Manifold, the left hand engine blue engine driven pump assembly and the pressure, return and case drain filters.
