A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700, registration N7724A performing flight WN-289 from Belize (Belize) to Denver,CO (USA), was enroute at FL380 over the Gulf of Mexico about 250nm southeast of Houston Intercontinental Airport,TX (USA) when the crew initiated an emergency descent to 10,000 feet due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft diverted to Houston Hobby Airport for a safe landing about 50 minutes after leaving FL380.

A replacement Boeing 737-700 registration N7721E continued the flight and reached Denver with a delay of 3.5 hours.
