A Westjet Encore de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GDEN performing flight WS-3483 from Sydney,NS to Halifax,NS (Canada) with 22 passengers and 4 crew, was climbing out of Sydney when the crew received a fuselage door warning light. The crew worked the related checklists, verified that the cabin pressure remained normal and decided to continue the flight. On approach to Halifax, already at 4000 feet, the aircraft depressurized. The crew declared PAN and landed safely on Halifax's runway 05 with emergency services in attendance.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found the aft cargo door in the unlocked position, the aft cargo canted panel was blown out. Maintenance locked the aft cargo door, tested the aft cargo door seal and indication system and secured the canted bulkhead blow out panel. The aircraft was pressurized and a leak test performed with no anomalies found.
