An Allegiant McDonnell Douglas MD-83, registration N409NV performing flight G4-672 from Orlando Sanford,FL to Portsmouth,NH (USA) with 154 people on board, landed on Portsmouth's runway 34 and slowed safely, the crew reported braking action was good. The aircraft was instructed to vacate the runway at the end via taxiway A, rolled to the end and attempted to turn off onto taxiway, but missed the taxiway. The nose gear departed the paved surface of the runway beyond the runway end and became disabled.

The runway was closed.

The airport dispatched tow equipment to pull the aircraft back onto paved surface, the tugs managed to return the aircraft onto paved surface about one hour after landing and towed the aircraft to the apron.
