An American Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration N285AY performing flight AA-754 from Philadelphia,PA (USA) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France), was enroute at FL370 about 500nm east of Bangor,ME (USA) and about 270nm east of Halifax,NS (Canada) when the crew decided to divert to Bangor reporting a burning electrical odour on board. The aircraft descended to FL190, later 18,000 feet and landed safely in Bangor about 90 minutes after turning around and leaving FL370.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 90 minutes, then returned to Philadelphia, where the aircraft arrived about 7:15 hours after departure from Philadelphia.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Philadelphia for about 6:45 hours, then returned to service.
