An Aeroflot Boeing 737-800, registration VP-BRF performing flight SU-42 from Moscow Sheremetyevo to Saint Petersburg (Russia), was on approach to Saint Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport's runway 10R when a bird impacted the nose of the aircraft. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 10R.

The return flight was cancelled.
