A Qatar Airways Airbus A321-200, registration A7-AIC perfoming flight QR-507 from Thiruvananthapuram (India) to Doha (Qatar) with 130 passengers and 9 crew, was enroute at FL300 over the Arabian Sea about 350nm west of Goa when the captain became ill. The crew decided to divert to Goa where the aircraft landed about one hour later.

There are conflicting reports stating the captain felt uneasy and ill, other reports suggest the captain may have become unconscious (these latter reports claiming, the commander radioed ATC he was incapacitated and unconscious).

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 10 hours, then continued the journey and reached Doha with a total delay of 11.5 hours.
