An Avianca Central America Embraer ERJ-190, registration N986TA performing flight TA-317/AV-317 from San Salvador (Salvador) to Panama City (Panama), was enroute at FL330 over Nicaragua about to enter the airspace of Costa Rica when the crew initiated an emergency descent to FL100 due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft turned around and diverted to Managua for a safe landing.

A passenger reported the crew indicated they suspected a bleed air problem that caused the loss of cabin pressure.
