An Emirates Boeing 777-300, registration A6-ECZ performing flight EK-35 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Newcastle,EN (UK), had departed Dubai's runway 12L and was enroute when the crew suspected a main tyre might have blown on departure. The aircraft continued to Newcastle, the crew advised on descent that they suspected a main tyre might have blown and requested emergency services on stand by for the arrival. The aircraft entered a holding pattern at 7000 feet for about 25 minutes, then continued for a safe landing on Newcastle's runway 25 with a delay of about 40 minutes. Emergency services reported one of the right hand main tyres was deflated.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 2.5 hours, then departed for the return flight EK-36 and reached Dubai with a delay of 40 minutes.
